Son Tra Peninsula is a 4,439-hectare nature reserve within Da Nang — the only place on earth where primeval forest meets the sea just 10km from a city center. Home to the rare red-shanked douc langur, it's Da Nang's "green lungs."
Red-Shanked Douc Langur — "Queen of Primates"
About 1,300-1,500 douc langurs live here — the world's most beautiful primate, nicknamed "Queen of Primates" for their five-colored fur. Best sighting times: early morning (5:30-7 AM) and late afternoon (4-5 PM) along the summit road.
Hidden Beaches
Bai But, Bai Rang, Bai Tien — small coves with white sand and turquoise water. Bai But is the prettiest, a C-shaped bay with lake-calm waters. Linh Ung Pagoda with its 67m Lady Buddha statue offers Da Nang's best panoramic views.
The Scenic Drive
The 18km road to the summit winds through primeval forest with sweeping ocean views. Ban Co Peak (696m) is the highest point — Da Nang's best sunrise and sunset spot.
